Kilmany Village
Kilmany is a small village which has been the home to a number of notable people: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilmany
In more modern times, Kilmany is particularly significant for being the birthplace of the 1960s/70s Formula 1 racing driver, two times World Champion (1963 and 1965) and 1965 winner of the Indianapolis 500, Jim Clark – in fact Wester Kilmany Farm, his birthplace, and where he lived during his early childhood, is opposite Garden Cottage (https://www.formula1.com/en/drivers/hall-of-fame/Jim_Clark.html)
The amazingly detailed, life-sized sculpture of Jim, located in the village by the bridge to the little park, was crafted by a village resident, David Annand, (http://davidannand.com/); it has become a regular visiting place for F1 fans from around the world, particularly on Jim's life anniversaries - we're not strangers to seeing both vintage and contemporary Lotus cars!
